Title: Multiple (36) digital weight scales - measure and log to pc at regular intervals Post by: afelt on January 08, 2014, 10:29:45 PM Hi,
I have a similar goal: I will have 36 digital (postal scales due to cheap price) scales with USB port. I would like to connect all 36 to my computer and log their outputs at regular intervals. In a perfect world, I need the outputs to be logged or manipulated in a way where i can easily view/transfer the data in excel (36 scales x 3 samples/day = 108 sample points per day). Im thinking of using a switch (multiple if necessary in order to accommodate 36 USB ports) -> data logger -> data logger software -> pc Also, I'm not sure if I will need a special switch that assigns a unique address to each USB port in order for me to be able to delineate between the scales - please advise Thank you, any advice is greatly appreciated. If you'll use a hardware data logger, then it will come with the corresponding software. Our software can't work with USB ports directly. Is it possible your scales can work as USB-HID or USB-COM port devices? |
