COM Port Data Emulator: ie_BadId error
«

hi - I just downloaded the free version of "COM Port Data Emulator & Traffic generator"
but I cannot get it to work.
I just want to send some strings to an emulated COM port - in my case I use COM port 8 - because this does not show up in the Windows Device Manager - so I should not have any conflict with ports that are already in use.
When I then press the "Start" button, I get an errormessage:
"Unable to open port: ie_BadId - Specified comport doesn't exist"
of course this port does not exists, I want the programm to emulate it.
Any ideas what is wrong here?

Please, note that this is "Data and Traffic Emulator", not a COM Port emulator. You can use our software together with our Virtual Null Modem software that can create virtual com ports.
